The events are professionally timed and USATF sanctioned. Adults and children alike participate in both the 5K and 1 mile and everyone has a fantastic time! This is about being outside, playing, and having fun!
Mister Vic, a children's musician and performer from Maynard, is coming to Evergreen Garden to do a show at A Day for Play on Sunday, October 14. After we cheer on the 5K runners and walkers Mr. Vic will perform (approximately 11:30) for about 45 minutes - 1 hour. He is the Director of Music Together of Assabet Valley and has been teaching music to young children for the past eleven years. He is known for his energy and enthusiasm. This should be a great addition to the day.
Participation from you and your friends is crucial. It will be your energy and your children's joy that will create the kind of buzz that brings people back year after year to our annual event.
The funds raised from race entry fees and a variety of corporate sponsors cover costs of the event and contribute to the annual fund for our beloved non-profit preschool. They are crucial for Evergreen Garden's efforts to offer a Waldorf, play based preschool and kindergarten program in Central Massachusetts. Every participant who registers provides us with funds towards our program such that we may continue to offer this unique program, improve our outdoor playyard, and meet our goal of being able to offer better tuition assistance for families in need.
