On a day that we celebrate mothers and children, the Walk became a place for families and friends to feel support and love with thousands of others who pledge their commitment to peace.
Through the years, it has become a way for thousands of people to financially support the work of the Louis D.
Brown Peace Institute.
Registration is free, however participants are encouraged to set personal fundraising goals.
The Louis D.
Brown Peace Institute assists and empowers families impacted by violence by providing support to survivors of homicide victims.
Applying their peace curriculum in area schools, the Peace Institute works to instill the value of peace in young people.
Through education, collaboration, and policy advocacy, the Peace Institute works to raise awareness of the cause and consequences of violence on the individual, the family, and the community.
