The run/walk will take place at the Historic Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain with registration beginning at 8:00 am.
Beginning in 1998, the 5K (3.1 miles) race/walk is held every spring as a tribute to the late Charlie Kelleher who was a devoted supporter of the Italian Home.
His memory lives on through this charity event.
Last year the race had almost 100 registrants and was able to present the Home with a check for $12,000.
The success of this event gives the children extra activities and a chance to better their opportunities.
The Italian Home for Children specializes in housing and treating children who suffer from various behavioral and mental health concerns.
Currently about 100 children ranging from the ages of 4 and 14 attend the programs at the Home whether it be residential or for school programs.
It paves the way for a healthy and safe return back into their schools, families and communities.
Please join us for this year’s 17th Annual race as well as a post-race party hosted at the Italian Home.
