• Earth Day freebie and recycling project: On Earth Day (4/22), a free Friends for Change and Oceans branded hat will be given to Disney Store guests bringing in six plastic bottles or aluminum cans (while supplies last). The hats are made from six recycled plastic bottles, and are an example of how everyday materials can be reused for many different purposes.
• FREE conservation activity for kids: Kids who stop by the Disney Store on Earth Day (4/22) will receive activity sheets based on the Oceans film, teaching them how to reduce the amount of trash and waste in our lakes, oceans, rivers and streams.
• New “Save Planet Earth” tote bags made from eco-friendly materials are available now at all Disney Stores. Each fashionable tote is made from seven recycled bottles and displays the lovable green alien from Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story. Proceeds from its sales will help Disney Store reach its goal of donating $65,000 to the Nature Conservancy. For each reusable tote sold Disney Store will donate $1 to the organization.
• Disney’s new Friends for Change apparel: Disney Channel stars Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and many more have come together as Disney’s Friends for Change, educating kids about activities that can do to help the planet. A new collection of Friends for Change 100% organic t-shirts in four unique styles are available exclusively at Disney Store
• New eco-friendly products and apparel: Disney Store’s new “Save Planet Earth” collection includes an exclusive line of new t-shirts that are made from 100% organic materials, reusable aluminum bottles, journals made from recycled paper and more.
• Parents can also bring kids to the Disney Store to pick up OCEANS themed activity sheets that teach children about our lakes, oceans, rivers, and streams and how we can reduce the amount of trash and waste in our waterways. OCEANS offers an unprecedented look beneath the sea, and can be a great viewing experience together for families and children.
Disneynature's OCEANS will also contribute to The Nature Conservancy's 'Adopt a Coral Reef,' through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, on behalf of every person who sees the film in theaters April 22- April 28.
A special message can also be seen at Disney Store locations, encouraging everyone to do their part to protect our waterways.
