Evergreen Garden is a Waldorf school that offers preschool programs and a kindergarten for children 2.9 - 7, as well as parent-child programming for 0 – 3 year olds. The Oxbow Schoolhouse is a private elementary school program serving children in Grades 1 - 6.
Evergreen Garden Playschool offers a rich, Waldorf, curriculum that includes creative play, story telling, art, music, outdoor play, crafts, cooking, and celebrating the seasons. Children’s imaginations are fostered at the same time they are learning important social skills they will need in their present and future. The curriculum is intended to provide the foundation for a well-balanced childhood and adult life.
Our beautiful sunny, and warm classrooms are filled with developmentally appropriate toys designed to help build important motor skills a young child is building. Nature plays a large role in our program. We embrace the outdoors and go outside each day for a significant portion of the day, playing on the playground, going for walks, and even sledding when there is snow! We offer healthy, local and organic food for our snacks.

Oxbow Schoolhouse is a small community based private elementary school. At Oxbow Schoolhouse the teacher strives to recognize each child’s individual gifts. The curriculum and small community setting help the teacher work to bring out the best in each student. The atmosphere is respectful, creative, and cooperative.
At Oxbow Schoolhouse, students actively create their own knowledge and understanding by connecting new learning to prior knowledge and experiences. Effective multiage classrooms are organized for active, hands-on learning and flexible grouping with such materials as learning centers, tables of manipulatives, a library corner, etc. The environment in which students study is critical. A deep connection to nature and a respect for one’s environment (both indoors and out) is supported through the use of high quality, natural materials as well as seasonal studies and outdoor educational activities. Harmonious daily rhythms, seasonal stories, and the practical arts (like knitting, wood working, cooking and baking) bring rich experiences to children and help reinforce cooperative and respectful attitudes. A combination of academics, the arts, and practical work builds multiple abilities in children. These experiences foster a “can-do” spirit and gives each child a variety of skills to tackle life’s challenges whether they be academic, social or personal.
