Registration is now open to children ages 7 to 10 for Arlington Children’s Theatre’s February Vacation Day Program. A.C.T.’s vacation drama programs feature one-act plays written by members of the A.C.T. community and directed by teenaged directors who have taken A.C.T.’s Directing workshop.

This February’s production will be “Udderly Ridiculous: Expired,” written by members of A.C.T.’s Fall 2008 playwriting workshop, a hilarious story full of wacky characters, which will have the audience laughing out loud.

The play will be produced by Paula Chase and co-directed by veteran ACTors and directors Nicole LaPan, 16, and Blair West, 17, both of Arlington. The Vacation Day Program meets at the Masonic Temple in Arlington, from 9 AM to 2 PM on Monday through Friday, February 16-20. At the beginning of each week, participants will learn the play and audition for roles. Over the next four days, they’ll rehearse, make costumes, design sets, and create props, and on Friday, the cast will perform the play for a lucky and appreciative audience. Cost for the week is $225.00 per student; scholarships are available.
