Everyday Engineering: Cup Towers
Mon., February 19 and Tues., February 20
Drop-in 11:00am - 2:00pm
Challenge yourself to build a one-of-a-kind tower made entirely out of cups. How high can you stack 'em? The sky's the limit.
Strike a Balance
Wed., February 21 and Thurs., February 22
Drop-in 11:00am - 2:00pm
Build a tabletop seesaw using rulers, paint stirrers and paper towel tubes. Then pile on the pennies and see if they can do a balancing act. Try balancing a bird on your fingertips and make your own 'balancing bird' to take home.
Tinfoil Ferries
Fri., February 23 and Sat., February 24
Drop-in 11:00am - 2:00pm
Investigate floating by building tinfoil boats and loading them with pennies. How many pennies can your boat hold? Roll up your sleeves and dive in!
National Engineers Week is sponsored by Raytheon.
