The patriots of Boston knew that the press was one of their most powerful tools. As tensions with Great Britain escalated, rebellious pamphlets, newspapers and political cartoons rolled off Boston’s presses. Printmaker Gary Gregory, dressed in 18th-Century attire, will demonstrate the printing process on a replica copperplate press and discuss the power of the press in colonial Boston.
