Students will deepen their understanding of STEM concepts through hands-on lab, fieldwork, and engagement in the engineering design process. The curriculum is based on the Next Generation Science Standards.

Each week will end with a capstone field trip, which may include the Boston Harbor Islands, BC's Weston Observatory, and local corporate and university biotech and engineering labs.

Session 1: July 5-8 - Energy Investigation of energy transfers, renewable and non-renewable energy sources and human impact on every supplies

Session 2: July 11-15 - Water Exploration of the chemistry of water, the importance of water to ecosystems, human impact on water sources and relationships between water and energy

Session 3: July 18-22 - Humans and Our Environment Study of urban development, its impact on our environment, and the effects of earthquakes, erosion, climate change and landslides

Session 4: July 25-29 - Biomedical Engineering Examination of human anatomy, pharmaceutical development, DNA, prosthetic engineering, and more here in the medical capital of the world
