Family program with Sarah T. Stewart
Sunday, november 16, 2008, 2:00 pm
Why do meteors occasionally leave their orbit and come crashing to Earth? And what happens when one strikes the Earth at 50,000 miles per hour? Harvard University astrophysicist Sarah Stewart will talk about how her laboratory uses high-tech equipment to simulate major meteor impacts, including a 20-foot long cannon that blows up rocks!
Part of the Earth Matters programing.
