At the event, younger children will enjoy a story time that highlights books about Thanksgiving, such as “Thanksgiving is for Giving Thanks” and “The Night Before Thanksgiving,” and participate in age-appropriate arts-and-crafts projects and games. For older children, there will be a separate story time featuring “39 Clues: The Maze of Bones,” an activity time during which kids can color and unscramble holiday-related words to solve a puzzle, and Thanksgiving-themed games that encourage children to use their imaginations to create stories of their own.
Borders and Waldenbooks stores have several other free, family-friendly events planned throughout the holiday season. Harry Potter fans won’t want to miss the release of J.K. Rowling’s “The Tales of Beedle the Bard,” which will be celebrated with release parties at Borders and Waldenbooks stores across the country at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4. In addition, families are welcome to attend the festive Holiday Parties on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. that will feature performances by local choral groups, story times, games and other activates for guests of all ages.
