Handcrafting Justice is an international project that empowers women in the developing world to lift themselves out of poverty through the creation of unique handmade goods.
The sale will feature fair-trade products from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Items include toys, home décor, indigenous art, pottery, bags and purses, cards, gifts, and more.
This will be joined with a sale of Guatemalan Fair-Trade Jewelry. The Guatemalan project Maya Skills will be represented by Julio Cochoy, selling jewelry made by members of his village.
For the first time, the Holiday Fair will also include a book fair. More than 70 titles will be available, including books on spirituality, justice, social action, history, poetry and children’s stories.
This is also the time to pick up Christmas trees from the annual First Parish Christmas Tree Sale. All trees are 6’-7’ tall Grade A Frasier Firs, which will be freshly cut on December 1st. Trees are $65.00 and must be pre-ordered by contacting the office at First Parish.
Finally, shoppers are invited to enjoy some time for fellowship and relaxation by joining in a free brunch, hosted by the First Parish Membership Committee. Baked goods, fruit salad, egg dishes, and more will be available throughout the morning.
