Highland Center, a four-season lodge and outdoor education center, offers 'green' lodging as well as a broad range of accommodations and walk-on programs, along with backdoor access to a variety of outdoor activities.

Family Adventure Weekend: Mother’s Day Brunch at Highland Center
May 11-13
Guided indoor & outdoor programs for families. Weekend incl. guided nature walks, family-friendly hike to a waterfall, & GPS treasure hunt. On Sun., we’ll offer crafts for kids & a gift for mom–a delicious Mother’s Day buffet. Massage sessions avail. during weekend for additional fee.

Family Adventure Weekend: Grandparent & Grandkids at Highland Center
May 18-20
Weekend feat. guided indoor/outdoor programs for grandparents & their grandkids. Incl. guided nature walks, hikes to a waterfall & local summit, teambuilding & games, & GPS treasure hunt.
Rates start at $320/adult members, $392/adult non-members, $236/youth members, $264/youth non-members, $172/child members, $186/child non-members.

Led by expert AMC staff, enjoy 3 days of daily guided group games, outdoor skills sessions, hiking adventures, & evening programs. Activities incl. team-building, hiking, map & compass, GPS treasure hunts, wildlife ID & tracking, pond studies, forest ecology, green tech tours, kids’ crafts, & much more. Dozens of miles of trails nearby for participants to enjoy easier or more challenging hikes, incl. day hike to backcountry hut. Every day packed w/adventure for the whole family. Activities are designed for families w/children 5+ but open to all.

Family Adventure Camp: Highland Center & Lonesome Lake Hut
August 12-17
Exp. the beauty of the White Mtns. w/unique learning & recreational adventure for active families. Expert AMC staff lead a full program of activities, incl. group games, outdoor skills sessions, hiking, canoeing & kayaking, wildlife ID, forest ecology, & more! Lodge-to-hut hike w/hut overnight provides great intro backcountry exp. for families! Geared toward families w/children 5-12, but all ages are welcome.

Family Volunteer Weekend at Highland Center
June 22-24; June 29-July 1
For the past 100 years, the White Mountain National Forest has created memories to last a lifetime. Give back to the WMNF w/family! Join other families for a weekend of trail stewardship. Families get to know each other while cutting back brush, removing trees across trails, or perhaps building bog bridges or rock waterbars in Crawford Notch area. Great opportunity for bonding, teamwork, & a chance to be outdoors!
