The Saturday events lead up to a special New Year’s Eve mask-making and rainforest fun-filled afternoon on December 31, as part of First Night and Boston's Winter on the Waterfront.
Children will be engaged by a plethora of rainforest stations that allow them to explore the rainforest canopy, investigate bromeliads, compete in the “Animal Olympics,” and create take-home jungle terrariums among other activities.
Children who attend on the New Year’s Eve celebration will also have the chance to make animal masks of their favorite rainforest beings.
Winter in the Rainforest will take place on Saturday, December 5, 12 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Thursday, December 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at “e” inc.’s environment science discovery center at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
The cost of entry is five dollars per child, one dollar per adult.
