Mayor Thomas M. Menino is inviting families and sledding enthusiasts of all ages to the City of Boston’s municipal golf courses for two days of winter fun on the weekend of February 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.The Boston Parks and Recreation Department has picked the best hills for sledding at the 12th hole at the George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park and the 18th hole at the William Devine Golf Course in Franklin Park, Dorchester. Visitors are also welcome to cross-country ski and snowshoe.
Signage will direct guests to the holes at each course. Helmets are strongly recommended. Dunkin’ Donuts will donate their Hot Chocolate and Munchkin™ donut hole treats for guests at George Wright Golf Course and the Parks Department will provide hot chocolate at Franklin Park.

In addition, the Franklin Park Coalition will be hosting its own Franklin Park Snow Festival on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Try out snowshoes, track animal prints in the snow with a naturalist, enjoy Frisbee golf, build snow people, go sledding, or play board games and warm up inside with hot chocolate provided by the Franklin Park Coalition.
