The Massachusetts State Chess Association is holding a USCF rated scholastic chess tournament Sunday January 11th, 2009 in Waltham. In addition to the Championship sections (age 8&U, 11&U ,14&U and HS), there will be special novice sections for less experienced children and an unrated section for beginners!

4 Round scholastic chess tournament. No elimination. Trophies for top 3 in each division; winner (MA student) in each Open division is invited to state finals. Ties for 1st place broken by playoff games. Medals awarded to those scoring at least 3 points who do not win a trophy.

Onsite registration from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Tournament from 9:30-3:30.

COST↑ top

$15 Open/$10 in Novice on-line via website by 01/09/09. $20 Open/$15 Novice at site.
