Revels (producer of the annual SummerDay, RiverSing and The Christmas Revels) welcomes in the spring Friday, March 20th in Watertown, MA with seasonal songs led by Revels music director George Emlen, lively country dancing with music by a fabulous string band, and a charming mummers’ play - not to mention a bounty of delicious homemade treats!
Shake off the winter doldrums amidst springs of green and blooming forsythia as Revels converts St. John’s Church into a warm and welcoming environment filled with music, laughter and songs for all to sing.
Children of all ages will enjoy special activities just for them before joining the adults in songs from Revels Garland of Song and other sources of seasonal music. There will be entertainments throughout the evening, including a mummers’ play performed by children from Revels Spring Workshop.
Joining George will be Revels song leader and master musician David Coffin along with soloist Mary Casey who was featured in last year’s Thomas Hardy-inspired Christmas Revels, singer Jamie Jaffe, and tenor John Castillo, a student at Perkins School for the Blind and a veteran of several Revels performances.
Admission is $10 for adults. Revels Spring Sing is free for children under 12.
