Make Your Voice Heard! is an opportunity to participate in a public speaking training with The White House Project, a nationally recognized organization hugely successful at helping women achieve positions of leadership.

The first workshop, Find Your Voice!, will teach students to speak publicly with confidence, and advocate and raise awareness for a cause in front of a crowd.

The lunch session will be more than just rest and relaxation- students from UMass Boston's Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy will join us to discuss their paths from student life to leadership roles.

In the afternoon workshop, Be an Advocate!, students will learn what it means to advocate for a cause (and for yourself!), how to raise awareness about issues we care about, how to network, and how to write concisely and persuasively. This workshop will help students to advocate for issues they care about in their personal lives, in their academic pursuits, in their communities, and in their careers.

Finally, the keynote speaker will be State Representative Marie St. Fleur, the first Haitian-American elected to public office in Massachusetts, and a living example of a young woman putting her advocacy skills to work to benefit her community every day in our state government.

Come join us and PARTICIPATE next Saturday! We hope to see you at Make Your Voice Heard! Snacks and lunch served. This event is free, but registration is required. Go to: www.pppolitics.org/makeyourvoiceheard
