Attendees can take mini-lessons on a variety of instruments at the petting zoo, sample class offerings, and discuss their interests with experienced teachers.

For early childhood music, join us for a demo class of Music Together® and or for an introduction to the Suzuki method and it’s philosophy; this is just a few among the many opportunities that families can experience at the Open House. It is a great opportunity to discover the right class or teacher to start or renew an interest in the arts regardless of age.

Registration materials for the Fall Term will be available for those who wish to sign up for private instruction, music classes, or various ensembles.

Apart from traditional western instruments, NSM also offer many other world music workshops and private lessons, including the Australian Aboriginal Didgeridoo, Middle Eastern Oud, Bouzouki and North Indian Tabla.

The New School of Music has been in Cambridge since 1976 when it was founded by the celebrated pianist, composer and educator, Nicholas Van Slyck. Our home at 25 Lowell Street was built in 1883 as the Lowell Street School, and is the only remaining wooden schoolhouse in Cambridge.

For more information, please contact the New School of Music by calling 617-492-8105 or by emailing info@cambridgemusic.org.
