Ever wonder what’s behind the closed doors of a multi-million dollar home? Visit the Home of Distinction to see the latest and greatest in home décor, technology, and appliances while supporting programs for underserved youth.

The upscale, 5,400 square-foot, traditional colonial home, which is being built by Behrend Construction, in conjunction with WCVB-TV, sits on three-quarters of an acre of land at 169 Grove Street in Wellesley.

The $2.195 million home features top-of the-line appliances and was built with the highest grade materials. In the home are four bedrooms, four full baths, two half baths, four fireplaces, a three-car garage, a finished basement with 10 foot ceilings, a wine cellar and tasting room, a full theatre with a reception area, and a playroom. Outdoor features include a brick patio with a built-in gas grill and a sitting wall with a fire pit. The patio also has exterior sound speakers, which are tied into the interior sound system.

The public is invited to tour the home Thursdays through Sundays beginning Thursday, Oct. 15 through Sunday, Nov. 1. Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Special events will be held throughout the month, including book signings, wine tasting, arts and music festival, parlor concerts, including the Wellesley Chamber Singers, afternoon teas, and fashion trunk shows.

All of the money raised through the purchase of tickets to the Home of Distinction by Behrend Construction will go to the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, a leader in children’s welfare, juvenile justice, advocacy and treatment for children and families in Massachusetts. Services include educational, residential treatment, and community-based programs, which support, educate, and rehabilitate children, helping them to grow into healthy and productive adult members of their communities. The project is being coordinated by TLConcepts. For more information, to purchase tickets, or volunteer at the home, visit rfkchildren.org, thebostonchannel.com, or call (617) 227-4183.
