Come to the Medford Public Library on Wednesday, February 17 at 10am during February School Vacation Week and enjoy a performance with children’s author, storyteller and historian Irene Smalls!

The award-winning author of fifteen children’s books will help Medford celebrate Black History Month by presenting “Let’s Get the Rhythm of the Feet”. Play a street game from 1950’s Harlem, talk a walk in the city with Jonathan and His Mommy, sing a song with Dawn. Meet the Jack Muh Lantern of slavery .

Shuck corn, then dance the beat, beat to the Johnkankus celebration. Music, chanting, props, costumes, simple dance steps and YOU are part of the show.
