To start the day, Elmo will be making an appearance at 10am. At 10:30 a.m., Magic Beans co-founders Sheri and Eli Gurock will be in the store to say hi. At noon, they will be serving Magic Beans-themed mini cupcakes from Party Favors. Jill Reed from Baja Face Painting will be doing free face painting from 4-5pm. At 5pm, Vanessa Trien, a Boston-based singer-songwriter, will put on a free concert. At 6pm Elmo is back for one last visit.
The fun continues into the evening, as the Coolidge Corner Merchants Association is hosting the first ever Coolidge Corner Summer Stroll. Many stores will be open late and will feature special promotions and entertainment.
About Vanessa Trien
Sheri and Eli both mentioned that they are equally as happy that Vanessa Trien agreed to do a concert for them. As Boston Children’s Music puts it, Vanessa “has some sort of magical energy that makes all of her shows super fun.” And magic is, of course, at the heart of the Magic Beans philosophy. Vanessa holds a master's degree in education from Harvard University, has taught music at the Cambridge Montessori School, and is currently teaching 'Music Together' classes in Brookline and Boston. CDs will be available for purchase at the show. For more information, visit www.vanessatrien.com.
