The Poitou donkey, known as the Baudet du Poitou in French, is an extremely rare breed of donkey and the oldest breed of donkeys in France. Franklin Park Zoo will mark the occasion with the following activities:
• Samples of a special themed cake in the shape of a French flag, generously donated by Montilio’s Bakery
• Poitou donkey zookeeper encounters throughout the day where guests will have the opportunity to learn more about Samuel and Balthazar
