Join expectant mother Kiki, her mate, Kit, and the other members of the gorilla family to celebrate Kiki’s upcoming baby birth during a special baby shower at Franklin Park Zoo. Kiki, one of the Zoo’s seven western lowland gorillas, is pregnant with her third baby and is expected to give birth between late September and December of 2010.

Visitors will enjoy zookeeper encounters, special baby-themed treats and other fun surprises! Additionally, the gorillas’ home, the Tropical Forest, will be festively decorated to celebrate this momentous occasion. Bring Kiki baby shower gifts and receive discounted admission; all items will be donated to local non-profit, Room to Grow, a charity that aims to enrich the lives of babies born into poverty by providing hundreds of expectant and new parents with parenting support and the essential items their children need to get a good start in life.

During the three-day baby shower, Room to Grow will accept the following newborn items at a collection area in front of the Zoo’s Zebra entrance. All items must be NEW and in its original packaging.

Event is free with regular paid admission Franklin Park Zoo Admission: $14.00 for adults; $8.00 for children (2-12); Children under 2 are free. *Each visitor who brings at least one item to donate to Room to Grow will receive a FREE child admission with a paying adult or $3 off one adult admission. **There is no limit on the amount of items that can be donated.
