5-7 PM, Nov. 4, Brookline Public Library
Boston/Brookline area preservation and greenspace groups will toast recent successes in historic, cultural and landscape preservation, including the exciting funding for restoring the African Meeting House and the 35th anniversary of the Friends of Hall’s Pond, while we continue to mourn the failure to preserve Pinebank, an important architectural feature in Frederick Law Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace.
We’ll celebrate the publication of Sarah Smith’s The Other Side of Dark, a ghostly thriller about Pinebank and how saving buildings in a landscape helps to save—and redefine—multicultural America.
Special surprise speakers!
Special guests: some of the real-life characters from The Other Side of Dark will be at the party (and will sign books).
Refreshments.
Co-sponsored by The Brookline GreenSpace Alliance, the Friends of the Muddy River, the Learning Games Network, and many others.
