United South End Settlements’ Children’s Art Centre is holding its first-ever John Hancock Arts in the Park community arts festival.

Location
Titus Sparrow Park in the South End.

Directions
The park is located on West Newton St. between Columbus and Huntington Avenues, next to the corridor park.

To get to the park by T:
From Mass Ave on the orange line. Come out of the T station and cross Mass Ave. Walk east through the corridor park approximately .5 miles, the park will be on your right.

From the Back Bay station on the orange line. Come out of the T station on the Dartmouth St. side. Cross Dartmouth and walk west through the corridor approximately .5 miles. Cross West Newton St. and the park is on your left.

From the prudential stop on the Green Line E train. Come out of the T station and walk south on West Newton 1.5 blocks. The park is on your right.


Featuring hands on activities including arts and crafts, dance, music, Chalk on the Walk, mural painting, face-painting, African drumming and much more. Arts in the Park will showcase the artistic talents of artists and organizations from the South End/Greater Boston community in a day of multicultural activities for children and adults.

John Hancock Arts in the Park in Titus Sparrow Park will draw close to 400 children and families from the South End, Lower Roxbury and Boston’s neighboring communities.

Artists
Participating artists and organizations are: Topf Center for Dance Education, Dorchester Community Center for the Visual Arts (Dot Art), Art Street, Inc. & Sidewalk Sam, Canvas on Wheels, and others.

About USES
United South End Settlements (USES) acts as a catalyst, assisting individuals and families throughout the lifecycle by providing a wide range of intricately linked programs. In addition to providing services and programs in USES’ four facilities – Harriet Tubman House, South End House, The Children’s Art Centre, and Camp Hale – USES seeks to build community by providing opportunities for individuals and groups to engage across class, race, ethnicity, age, and disability through educational classes and cultural events.
