Saturday, February 5th
12:45pm, 1:30pm, and 2:15pm - The Arts of the Opera
Join Opera Boston and Boston Children's Museum’s own Patty Stubel (assistant to the President) in a special family workshop to see and hear how opera uses artwork and music to tell stories! Recommended for ages 5 and up, sign up at the Art Studio ½ hour before workshop time. Space is limited and is first come, first served.
Sunday, February 6th
11:30am Longy School of Music
Suzuki Method students as young as 5 years old perform on string instruments. Open to all!
11:30am and 12:30pm The Look and Feel of the Blues!
Join Boston blues singer Valerie Stephens and sideman Chris Stovall Brown for some live music, matching up hues of blues with feelings and sounds, and making mixed media artwork to a first-class serenade! Recommended for ages 5 and up, sign up at the Art Studio ½ hour before workshop time. Space is limited and is first come, first served.
2-4pm Jazz Mural
Boston-based musician Ken Field (Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, Birdsongs of the Mesozoic) and friends call-and-respond musically to painters of all ages, as we create an abstract mural to the music we hear. Open to all.
