The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal HIstory will hold its annual
Fall/Halloween Family Day on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm.

Activities will include decorating Trick or Treat bags with stamps, a
Halloween Stamp Hunt, designing a Halloween Stamp for prizes and other
stamps games and activities.

Refreshments will be served. Children under 16 are free. There is a $2
charge for each bag decorated

Spellman Postal Museum

My four-year-old and I attended a homeschooling 'class' at the Spellman Postal Museum. It was fantastic! The instructor, Henry Lukas, led a group of children (of all ages) through the history of stamps. He incorporated geography, language, fun facts, stories, famous people, and sports into a very interesting 2 1/2 hour class. The children made crafts, worked with maps and stamps from countries around the world. When it appeared that my four-year-old (the youngest child there) was getting antsy, Mr. Lukas deftly provided her with crayons and coloring pictures of stamps. I would venture to say that all the parents and all of the children enjoyed the activities.
