Rebecca Black, Consultant to the Rhythms of Grace program at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Walpole, MA, and mother of a child on the Autism Spectrum. “Rhythms of Grace is a worship experience designed for folks on the Spectrum, children, teens, even adults, using “reverse inclusion.” says Black.
What is “Reverse Inclusion”? “The worship was designed by two educators to meet the needs of Autism Spectrum people,” explains Black. “There are therapeutic activities built in to provide support for small motor skills, receptive language skills and so on. We also provide sensory aids that these folks may need to be comfortable. It makes parents feel safe and supported to see how welcome their children are in this church.”
