Ship modeling is a craft as old as shipbuilding itself, going back to ancient time when water transport was first developed. Ship models are scale representations of ships and can range in size from 1/6000 scale war-gaming miniatures to large vessles capable of holding people.
Lou will bring examples of both 'kit and scratch built' operating models to illustrate assembly, construction and operation. He will also discuss the experience and skill level needed to complete different types of models.
About Lou Hills
Lou Hills is a ship modeler and past Commander of the New England Guild of Scale Ship Modelers. He has won numerous first place awards over the past 20 years for static and radio control scale ship modeling for both on and off the water models. Lou is currently, scratch building and writing a book about an early Boston twin screw iron towboat.
