This week will highlight the engineering and technology programming that happens here at the Museum. Special engineering focused activities will be offered daily at the Children's Discovery Center, Cahners ComputerPlace and through Exhibit Hall Interpretations.

Engineering the Future
Come learn about the engineering design process by designing and prototyping a cell phone holder! This is one of several projects done in the Museum's new high school curriculum, Engineering the Future. Materials and guidance will be provided. Presentations are Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Blue Wing well.

Discovery Center
At the Discovery Center’s Lab Station, children 8-years-old and younger, hone their basic engineering skills while designing, testing and improving creations they build themselves. Watch as your preschooler rises to the challenges of building a glider and testing it on our flight track, designing an optical illusion, or creating a new substance by experimenting with non-toxic chemicals. Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Exhibit Interpretation
Museum staff and volunteers will be offering a variety of engineering-related activities in the exhibits throughout the day everyday. Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Design Challenges
Take on the role of engineer and design, construct, and test a prototype. Activities will include creating and testing bobsleds, and building windmills to harness energy. The Design Challenges program will offer 2-hours of activities Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Current Science and Technology Stage.
