The Friends of the Franklin Library and Mel Diva’s Coffee House will host a Poetry Open Mike Night on Wednesday, April 19th at 7:00pm. Poet Janet Cormier will serve as emcee. Ms. Cormier’s poetry has been showcased on several Boston area cable TV shows. She is author of “African American Humor – From Slavery to Present.”

Would be poets will be allowed three minutes to read their original poetry. Additional slots will be offered if time allows. Both novice and professional poets are welcome.

The Friends of the Franklin Library are sponsoring the event in cooperation with Mel Diva’s Coffee House in celebration of April as National Poetry Month. Anyone joining the Friends of the Franklin Library that evening will receive a coupon for a free coffee.
