Minute Man Arc is the local division of the non-profit state organization Massachusetts Arc, which provides a wide variety of support and advocacy services to people with disabilities.
In the interest of broadening its service to the community, The Discovery Museums are committed to increasing the number of children with disabilities that they serve. The hands-on exhibits at the Museums provide excellent physical, sensory and cognitive stimulation for all children, but particularly for children with a variety of disabilities.
This event will allow families to explore the exhibits and participate in developmentally appropriate programming, while surrounded by families who face similar challenges as well as other museum patrons. In addition to the hands-on exhibits in each Museum, special interactive programming will be offered by the education staff.
Parents, grandparents, siblings, caregivers, friends, and educators are welcome. Admission is complimentary, thanks to the generous sponsorship of CVS/pharmacy and Red Hat, Inc.
Acessibility
Please note that the Children’s Discovery Museum’s Victorian building is not fully accessible, although staff will be on hand to make every possible effort in assisting families to explore all The Discovery Museums have to offer. The Science Discovery Museum is fully accessible.
