Sunday, May 6 – Celebrate the Pacific Islands! Join us for performances by Polynesian Dance Arts at 1:00 and 2:00pm in The Common. Watch as they introduce Hawaiian and Tahitian dance and make your own lei using recycle materials.
Sunday, May 13 – Celebrate China! Listen to traditional music on the erhu, an ancient Chinese instrument. Students from Boston Erhu Ensemble with Zhantao Lin will perform at 11:00 and 12:00 in The Common. Make a paper fortune cookie, a Chinese American favorite, and share good wishes with someone in your family. (Don’t forget it’s Mother’s Day!)
Sunday, May 20 - Celebrate Japan! Visit Kyo-no-Machiya, the Japanese House, and make an origami samurai helmet to wear. Hear a kamishibai story and try on Japanese geta (shoes) or a yukata (cotton kimono).
Sunday, May 27 - Celebrate India! Join us for performances by Aakriti, an Indian classical dance troupe, at 2:00 and 3:00pm in the Common. Find out about rangoli in India and then make your own design.
