Explore a special exhibition of artifacts and images from the battle, including the wooden leg used by a surviving CONSTITUION crewmember. Experience the battle and its bloody aftermath with the video, 'Honors of War,' playing in the Figgie Theater.
Throughout the month, you can toast 'Old Ironsides'' victory, just as Bostonians did during the war; work with a team to 'steer' the ship; get up close and personal with the surgeon's toolkit; and sew your own surgeon's journal to take home (schedule varies).
Throughout the month, you can help create a memorial wreath in honor of the British and American sailors who lost their lives during Constitution's battle with HMS Java on December 29, 1812. Inscribe the name of a sailor or a special note of thanks on the wreath.
On December 29th, join the USS Constitution Museum and the crew of USS CONSTITUTION for a special wreath-laying ceremony in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Time TBD.
