In honor of Mother’s Day, the Children will also leave prepared to treat Mom as the guest of honor a family meal.
First impression & etiquette expert Janet Parnes will facilitate the Workshop.
Ms. Parnes, a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington®, periodically collaborates with Dabblers to offer etiquette workshops for children and teens.
Ms. Parnes, who facilitated the previous workshops for Dabblers, will use stories, rhymes, role-play, and historical trivia, to teach the following topics:
• Introducing ourselves and others: posture, eye contact, the handshake, responding
• Basic dining skills: includes when to be seated/start eating, the table setting, napkin and silverware handling, cutting technique, passing plates, etc. as well as how to serve an honored guest (Mom)
• Being a considerate family member, friend, and classmate: courtesy and cliques; lunchroom etiquette; steering clear of gossip; respecting differing opinions and respecting privacy
The workshop will include a snack, workbook, gift, and summary of serving the Guest of Honor for each child.
Class size is limited to 12 students, so that each child can receive individual attention and support.
Everyday Etiquette for Children will run from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 27.
The price will be $59 per child with a 10% discount for a second family member.
