The Young Gals Support the Grand Old Lady - A Schooner Challenge to Benefit the Evelina M.
Goulart - In support of the Essex Shipbuilding Museum’s efforts to stabilize the Evelina M Goulart, climb aboard the schooner Thomas E. Lannon, Ardelle, or Fame for an evening of fun.
Participate in a unique brand of schooner challenges, and help make the boat you are on the winner.
Among the challenges will be:
- Racing around a course (with man over board drills at a moment’s notice just to throw the other boats off)
- Fastest to weigh anchor
- Knot tying
- Song writing (extra credit for instrumentation)
- Sail raising, and
- Whatever else the captains, who have been known to cheat at games, dream up between now and then
There will be cash bars on board, and light hors d’oeuvres will be available.

Tickets: $40 per person.
All proceeds to benefit the Evelina M.
Goulart stabilization project.
Tickets for this unique event are not available from the individual schooner sales offices.
Boats will depart from and return to Maritime Gloucester, Harbor Loop, Gloucester
Be on the dock at 5:45 pm to be assigned to your Schooner.
Schooner seating will be assigned by random draw.
All efforts will be made to seat friends and/or couples together on the same boat.
