Reservations are appreciated for tours starting at 10:00, 10:45, 11:30, 12:15, 1:00, 1:45, 2:30 and 3:30 PM.
On the same day, there will be a lecture and workshop entitled 'The History of Kites and Building Your Own Sled Kite'. Cost for this activity is $10.00 per kite kit for 1 adult and 1 child, or $8.00 for a youth alone age 8-17. Family rates are also available.
Reservations are appreciated for the workshop starting at 10:00, 11:15, 12:30, 1:45, 3:00, (and 4:15 PM if necessary). Contact Don McCasland at 617-696-0562 to make reservations.
Directions
The summit of Great Blue Hill can be reached by hiking or biking from the Trailside Museum and Blue Hill Ski Area parking lots on Route 138. The summit access road is not open to public vehicles; the walk up the hill to the Observatory along the summit road is approximately one mile. Trail maps and information are available at the Trailside Museum.
