In order to shear the sheep however, they must be herded first.
Fortunately for OSV, David Kennard of Wellscroft Farm (NH) and his border collies will be on site to help.
Sheepherding demonstrations will be scheduled regularly throughout the day.
Costumed historians will demonstrate the process of wool textiles from scouring and carding to spinning and knitting.
Attempt to card the wool by hand, and then see how much faster the old-fashioned Village carding mill can get the job done.
Test your history knowledge at our textile exhibit, or even pick up the ‘ole lumber and play some 1830s “base ball.”
