Families are invited to celebrate the magical world of Dr. Seuss and meet one of his zany characters The Cat in the Hat at The Children¹s Museum of Portsmouth on Saturday, November 11, 2006 from 10:00am 12:00pm. This special event is part of the Books Alive! children¹s literacy program sponsored by Irving Oil.

Museum staff will read The Cat in the Hat by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) aloud for visitors at 10:30 and 11:30 AM, then the mischievous cat himself will appear to greet children and pose for photos. Visitors of all ages are also invited to explore Seuss-inspired activities in the museum¹s Project Area, including creating a comical hat and participating in challenges involving rhyming, balancing and math. There will also be coloring and activity sheets for children to take home.

Cost
The Cat in the Hat¹s visit is included in the museum¹s regular price of admission ($6 for adults & children, $5 for seniors, free for museum members and children under age 1).
