Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield holds its annual Big Woods Hike. The two-hour guided walk goes through marshes, ponds and the old growth forest of Averill's Island.
An open fire warms up participants back in the barn, where hot drinks, homemade soup, and desserts will sold.
Registration required. Children must be at least 5 years old. Rain or shine.
