Celebrate and explore one of Massachusetts’ most historic and accessible sites on Friday, August 22.

Part of the Free Fun Fridays program, The Old Manse in Concord – a National Historic Landmark built just before the Revolutionary War by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s grandfather yards from where the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired – is opening its doors for the whole day at no cost for all to enjoy!

The celebratory event will include:

Colonial music and dance demonstrations
Scavenger hunt and craft demonstrations
Living history and a recreation of the 18th century kitchen yard
Guided attic and landscape tours
Admission to the historic Old Manse House, including a self-guided and kid friendly tour
Tours of the adjacent Caesar Robbins House offered in partnership with the Drinking Gourd Project
Food and drink available for purchase

This event is FREE and open to the public.

It is part of Highland Street Foundation Free Fun Fridays initiative – a statewide summer program that opens doors to visitors for FREE to 66 treasured cultural venues in Massachusetts.
