Royall House presents…The story of Peter Salem: “Fighting in the Hope of Freedom: The Story of Peter Salem, Black Soldier in the Revolutionary War,” a special children’s program, will be given at the Royall House and Slave Quarters.

This is a 45-minute program best suited for kids 7 and up.

Bruce Harris, historian and actor, will tell the inspiring story of Peter Salem, a sharpshooter and slave, who served every day of the Revolutionary War. Harris brings history alive as he dispels myths about African-Americans and the Revolutionary War. Harris will appear in full costume and children will be able to talk to Peter Salem about battles, his meeting with George Washington and what it was like to live in those times.

Mr. Harris is the Executive Director of The Literary Trail of Greater Boston and serves on the Board of the Royall House Association (RHA).

This special program is presented by the Royall House Association (RHA). For more information, please call (781) 396-9032, or e-mail RoyallHouseEvent@AOL.com.
