Scout Day at Old Sturbridge Village is one of the Scout programs offered by OSV, providing Scouts, and their families and friends, the opportunity to learn about America's proud past!

Our recreated community portrays a 'typical' New England town of the early 19th century.

Special programs and hands-on studios designed around a specific theme help Scouts earn requirements toward badges, meet other Scouts, and make lasting memories.

Please join us as we explore the many connections between 19th-century household cooking and techniques used by todays scouts to prepare food over campfires.

Visit Village homes to see bake kettles and tin reflecting ovens in use.

Talk to tinners, potters and blacksmiths about cooking utensils.

Watch a survivalist demonstrate primitive fire starting methods.

Gather round as Old Sturbridge Village staff cook over a campfire on the Common and sing a few campfire songs!

At the Country Bank Education Center, badge-related studios will be offered to Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts, and Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Boy Scouts.

Additional studios, which do not meet badge requirements, are available for scouts siblings and for scouts ages 5-17.

During Scout Day you can also visit the animals and costumed Villagers throughout the Countryside and Center Village.

Ride the stagecoach ( weather permitting; $3 per person) and join in games on the Common.

If time permits, consider making a quick craft in the Hands-on Craft Center ($5-10 per activity).

These activities are designed to meet Scout electives and some badge requirements.

Additional studios are also available for all Scouts and youths.
