In recognition of Women’s History Month, Stevens Memorial Library will host the one-woman show “Susan B. Anthony The Invincible!” in the library’s meeting room, featuring actress and educator Sally Matson portraying the famous American activist (1820-1906). Anthony fought for woman suffrage, abolition and temperance, traveling across the land rallying support for equality and these landmark changes.

Matson, an actor and graduate of the Northwestern University School of Communication, presents a fiery, humorous and revealing portrait of Anthony and her encounters with slaves (in the Underground Railroad), presidents, newspapermen and cowboys, and recounts her arrest and trial for voting illegally.

This free program is funded by the North Andover Arts Council and appeals to all ages, but is particularly appropriate for students in grades 5-12.
