Party in the Park, (aka the annual hat party that benefits the Justine Mee Liff Fund for the Emerald Necklace), introduces its first-ever children’s programming with the launch of the Emerald Necklace Explorers Club.

This year’s calendar of family-friendly events and activities begins with “A Walk in the Park,” a Children’s Tea and Fashion Show.

The Emerald Necklace Explorers Club is designed to encourage exploration, education, support and enjoyment of the parks of the Emerald Necklace.

”A Walk in the Park” will feature a fashion show by Pollywog’s Children’s Boutique, along with hands-on kids’ activities from the Olmsted Tree Society, Franklin Park Zoo, Mad Science, and the Boston Park Rangers, designed to showcase all that is available for children and families within the Emerald Necklace park system.

Hosted by MC J.C. Monahan, Anchor, WCVB

About Party in the Park
Held each spring since 2005, the annual Party in the Park fundraiser attracts 700 of Boston’s finest women (and a few brave gents) who flaunt their most elegant headgear and attire at the stylish afternoon soiree, held under a tent on the lovely grounds overlooking Jamaica Pond. Long considered the city’s “Must Attend Fundraiser,” the Party in the Park luncheon is the signature fundraising event for the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. To date, the luncheon has raised over $7.25 million for the Justine Mee Liff Fund, which supports restoration projects in the Emerald Necklace park system. http://www.emeraldnecklace.org/party-in-the-park/

About the Emerald Necklace Conservancy
A non-profit founded in 1998, The Conservancy protects, restores, maintains and promotes the 1,100 acres of meadows, woodlands and paths of the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Emerald Necklace park system that serves as a respite from the city for more than one million citizens and tourists each year. www.emeraldnecklace.org.
