There will be conformation events where dogs are judged to their breed’s standards and compete for points to their Champion title and the coveted “Best in Show” award. Saturday there will be a special “Best Bred By Exhibitor” competition where breeders show dogs they bred. There will be Obedience, Agility and Rally trials where dogs are judged for their ability to follow commands in the ring or as they move through a course of activities. In the Junior Showmanship competition, youngsters ages 9 to18 compete for prizes displaying their skills handling their own dogs. There may be 1,000 dogs and over 100 AKC–recognized breeds entered each day.
There are concessions featuring dog and pet-related items such as food, toys, books and clothing as well as vendors offering breakfast and lunch items for you and your family.
The shows start at 8 a.m. and run throughout the day. Groups and Best in Show start at 1:30 p.m. Friday, 2:15 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
