The Children of Sderot, a theatrical project organized by the Russian-Jewish Community Foundation (RJCF) of Boston, is sponsoring two performances locally to bring the experiences of these embattled Jewish children to Greater Boston. The challenges and heart-breaking experiences growing up amid the constant rocket attacks that plague their Negev city of Sderot, shape the piece, performed in Russian with English translation.
The children, ages 9-13, will perform in the Boston, New York and New Jersey areas. This summer, when not on the road, the 20 youngsters will attend Russian-speaking summer camps in the Boston area for a tension-free vacation.
The two local performances are set for Wednesday, July 25 at at Temple Bnai Moshe, 1845 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston and Thursday, July 26 at 7 p.m. at Temple Ahabat Shalom, 151 Ocean Street, Lynn. All proceeds benefit the Children of Sderot Fund.
