In association with the Concord Museum’s new exhibition, Building Thoreau’s Boat, the Museum is pleased to offer this special opportunity to build your own 18’ canoe with your family or group and then take it home with you! All you need to build a boat with your family is dedication—to the project and to each other.

You need no carpentry skills; everyone can help in the building process. On Friday evening, we’ll review the plans and set up the tools and materials; building starts on Saturday. At the end of the day on Sunday, load your new boat on your car and you’re ready for the river!

$1400 per family/group • Limited space; registration by 9/26 required; call for more information, 978-369-9763.
