Salem Senior Recognition Days - 10AM - Council on Aging, 5 Broad St.
Opening ceremony for this week long celebration. Dignitaries and other special guests will honor the city's seniors and a wall of tribute will be unveiled.
Salem Senior Recognition Days
Salem Senior Trolley Rides - Salem residents ages 60 and over can ride the Salem Trolley free from 10AM to 4PM. Board at the National Park Service Visitor Center. Proof of age and Salem residency is required.
Witch House, Witch Museum, House of Seven Gables Tours - Free admission for Salem residents ages 60 and over. Proof of age and Salem residency is required.
Mayor's Night Out Restaurant Sampler – 5PM-7PM
Join Mayor Kim Driscoll for hors d'oeurves samples at three local restaurants. The event starts at Capt's on Pickering Wharf, the next stop is the Old Spot and the last stop is The Tavern on the Green in the historic Hawthorne Hotel. Pre-registration required (max. 40 participants). Cost: $20 (Cash Bar) Proceeds benefit the Salem Main Streets program. For more information or to register call the Salem Chamber at 978-744-0004.
Young Dance Company – 8PM-10PM – Salem Willows Shell
A Heritage Days favorite, come see the Young Dance Company perform their exciting 2007 dance production featuring a special tribute to Tony Bennett's music. Don’t forget to bring your blankets and chairs, relax by the ocean, and enjoy.

Mel Simons – 12:30PM – 2:30PM - Bates School – Liberty Hill Ave.
Popular radio personality Mel Simons will entertain seniors with a sensational program entitled “The Golden Days of Television”. This event is free, but reservations are required because seating will be limited to 150. For information, call Pat Sosnowski, 978-745-6182.

Brookhouse Garden Tea – 3PM-5PM – 180 Derby Street
A tea, served with cookies, will be hosted in the garden at the Brookhouse Home. The event is free for seniors (60 and older), but reservations are required because seating will be limited. For information, call Pat Sosnowski, 978-745-6182.
Window Box & Traffic Island Awards Ceremony – 5:30PM – Emmerton House Garden- 12 Hawthorne Boulevard. Please join Mayor Kimberley Driscoll, the Salem Garden Club and the Salem Beautification Committee as they award the winners of the City's residential window box competition and business sponsored traffic island program. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.
Salem/Beverly Alumni Flag Football Game - 6PM - Bertram Field

Lip Sync Night – 5PM-6:30PM – Salem Willows Shell
Brand New This Year – The City of Salem's first ever Lip Sync Night. Would you like to perform? We are looking for groups of 2 or more. Participants should be between the ages of 6-14. Please bring your own music in CD form only. You must pre-register at the Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services Department at 5 Broad Street. Senior Night – 5PM-9PM – Knights of Columbus
Salem's seniors are invited to dinner and dancing at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Washington Square. “Trilogy” will perform and the dinner will be catered by Mizioch-Witham Catering. Cost to Salem seniors (60 and older) is $3, but tickets must be picked up in advance at the Senior Center, 5 Broad St. Each Salem senior may pick up no more than two tickets. Salem's Best Pizza Competition – 6PM-7:30PM – Salem Common
Come decide which Salem restaurant has the best pizza. Bring the whole family. We will award the top adult and kids pick. $5 Adults / $3 Kids. For more information contact the Salem YMCA at 978-744-0351.
Movie on the Common – 8:30PM – Salem Common
The City of Salem Recreation & Community Services Department presents Ice Age, so bring some popcorn, a blanket or chair and enjoy.

Salem Arts Association in collaboration with the Salem Chamber of Commerce present 'Ode to Cornell: What Would Joseph Do?' a juried exhibit of art inspired by Joseph Cornell, at Old Town Hall. Lynda Hartigan, renowned Cornell expert and curator of the corresponding exhibit at the PEM will speak. Free admission.

Wild Fish One Mile Swim~AND Purely Mad 2 Mile Swim –10:30am – Collins Cove
NEW for this year is the Purely Mad 2 mile swim - endurance swimmers come give it a try! These swims are~ designed for all levels - competitive to leisure. Sun Tae Kwon Do Academy Demonstration– 3PM – Essex St. Pedestrian Mall/Armory Park Area
Come watch this Korean martial art, which literally means 'The Art of Hand and Foot.' Watch children as young as six years old demonstrate their skills and then see their mothers and fathers do the same.

Hosted by Erik Rodenhiser of Salem’s Griffen Theatre and Bruce Whear of Salem, known locally for their hysterical improv shows and comedy nights, they will lead improvised interaction with fellow actors and the audience during the performances.
